For BSOD: Maybe a driver conflict,Have you tried doing a fresh install of Windows 8 and then follow this guide? Forgive me if it's already been mentioned and resolved.The ATI Radeon video card has a DVI and a VGA port and I hooked the monitor into the VGA port. Clearly there must be a simple solution around this that will allow me to force Windows 8 to use the Windows 7 driver. his comment is here As you can not boot to the tty1 console, That indicates to me either/or/and file system corruption/hard drive hardware problems/grub files not found.
