What will XP OS Repair do from the purple disc? Before you re-format or run fdisk, grab a copy of the Drivers directory from the Dell's hard disc image. Does this program detect, which programs are crippled software that needs to be removed? Thanks again

I just tried seein if I could install windows on a thumb-drive and backup files by loading windows from it….but that doesnt work =) I select the thumbdrive and it asked I had fixed the problem by reinstalling windows about a year ago, it crashed again, I fixed it again. I spent more then 2 weeks breaking my head why my hdd showed only half of the capacity. It just allows you to restore that capacity in case other software or PC distributor reduced it. Or does it offer you a choice when you run it? Now what?

I have another desk top computer with xp but I dont know if you can make a boot disk from it. I immediately purchased the DVD Preload Recovery for that model and I was able to completely recover the system, but it did reinstall the Pre-Load Partition. from anyone who could help me… I am using the Dell Latitude D 520 version..
