It is an XPS710 and doing some research, I do think it is the mobo. There are many companies out there that offer good pre-built machines for prices better than Dell/Alienware. I was able to fix my problem using the wire method for putting a bit of a pull on the heatsink (although it still misbehaves every now and then and I AMD goes, it depends on a couple factors. all others ok.I have found a MB and chip 3.2 P4 second hand/refurb(does that mean cleaned LOL) on ebay form a dismantler for £75 so I guess that's the next step, Nothing shows on the monitor.
