Crappy media can play fine the first week and a year or two later be completely unplayable or un-rippable. This is not a problem of unclean or scratched DVDs. I suggest using ImgBurn for this. Get More Info Nobody has answered my one burning question.

The freezes don't always take place in the exact same place, as one would expect with a disc flaw. That is probably the one WORST thing you can do!!!!! I have stopped using paper labels now. On some problem discs (freezing, jerkiness, etc., the back-ups play better than the original.
