However I cannot install the SATA drivers when I press 'F6' during the initial stages of a Win XP Pro install. Great Job in specifing the exact steps. If using FAT32, your partition cannot be larger than 32GB. What do you think?

Because I did not have a linux system (base system is XP), I used MBR Wizard (http://mbrwizard.com/) to set the new drive to be bootable, and hey presto - everything worked You should already have your primary (C:) partition defined with extra space left over as Unpartitioned Space. The last beta BIOS they got for me at after 2AM was able to install Windows with my various ATI cards and my SATA drives were working once again.
If you have any other ideas let me know. Removed the 2x400GB striped drives. Thanks again a 30 second fix saved days of headaches 🙂 Dave Sorry I forgot to add the bit about entering the BIOS and changing to AHCI settings.
