Tonight is May 7th: BCUC & Mama’s Funky Flow @ Fudge (SJU) but if you cannot attend, or want a little pre-party at home, here is the recording of our previous gig, one month ago. Don’t worry if you catch this anytime later, the mix will still be funky as hell, with:

This week Nemo got to do a solo bit, and play with his new serato gear all night long. All the while I was having a good time on and around the dance floor. That is, after my hands stopped itching. I can’t wait to team up again for the next gig on april 2nd! Anyway, Nemo spun a funky fresh set of high carbon, fully flavoured phat tunes, blended splendidly for a nonstop flow of hip shakin’ grooves. Check out the result below.

Oh and big up to the band that night, George played a versatile set of accessible & credible funky tunes with excellent party flavours.

Fiiiiinaaaallly we got to play the SJU again in the funky fresh new year of 2010. Needless to say, we were really eager to rock the decks and have you guys shake it all over the SJU. So, after a steady warm-up by the Skarabeez, we took to the tables and from the look of the dance floor delivered as promised. The SJU remained filled until four, apparently the crowd had a good time and so did we. Listen to the first 90 minutes of funk below.

The MadFreshF*dge friday night experience with masters of the raw vibe, Mama’s Funky Flow @ F*dge (SJU). Before we unleash our freshest flavours to light the floor on fire, Piscine Bleue will jazz-groove their way into your nervous system with their infectious and intelligent tripdubdrumnjazz.

Atmospherical groove oriented trip hop-dub-drum & bass in a jazz line up. obstinate wide atmospheres are generated with the aid of effect gear and samples. The music of piscine bleue can be characterized as both dance and jazz.

Recently I had the honour to entertain a bunch of singers and choirists (is that a word?) to get them to relax and enjoy themselves after some intense workshops and singing sessions. Although it was on a sunday, I tried to give the people of ecu2009 an energetic mix to let their feet catch up with their vocal cords. I had to do this one solo, but the good sir MacambA was kind enough to jump in for a lil’ back-to-back spinning for the last 40 minutes or so. I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed spinning it!

PS I had just received the Manmade Promo for Feature Funk vol.2 that week (out 14th of august), and was so determined to get in a few tracks that I played one of their tracks twice! Recommended for DJ’s and people that like energetic dance floor funk bombs alike!

Since this DJ set was preceded by the New Mastersounds, with whom you are undoubtedly familiar, I will say a few things about their show first.

If you haven’t seen/heard them live yet, then you should, period. If you have seen/heard them live before, you should want to see them again. I know I do. I even know Nemo went 2 nights in a row without disappointment. I’m hoping to get my paws on the recordings of their live set as well, but for now, you guys (and gals) will ahve to make do with our humble DJ set, which features a few NMS tracks. Coincidence?
