Bingo! Then try again with no battery in... Well, I installed a new motherboard and "poof" it powered up right away. (YEAH!) I hit "DEL" to look at the CMOS & BIOS and didn't really have to change anything I then went back to the rescue disk and did a disk test., and chose a deep search. useful reference
