I take the video card out and leave it out, I then intended to test the motherboard as advised on this forum, by removing the RAM and booting to see if I mean, obviously you can unplug the thing, but most people are used to being able to switch it off in a pinch. While supply voltage shouldn't be an issue with a previously working PC, if you've replaced the power supply or moved the system, it's always a possibility. The Power supply is 500W, I have 24 pins as main power and 4 pins power for motehrboard. Everything when smooth up until the point I tried to boot it up and nothing happened. If you had the card in there slanted or not completely seated, the contacts could have shorted something. I seemed to catch where the explosion/spark came from, which was the plug where the computer is plugged into.
Long strings of slow beeps are usually related to a bad memory module, and repeating strings of 3 or 9 beeps often indicate video card failure.
