I can ping both of these computers from the Dual Core, but I cannot ping the Dual Core from either of the other two computers. If you think you know all the answers perhaps you should take a look at the number of posters who, despite their experience, still find this an almost impossible task! above too, anytime you change the Workgroup name you must re-boot that computer for the changed Workgroup name to apply. When I try to print it allows me to choose the printer then tells me I cannot print?I have searched all over this site and can find NO information from MVP's Permissions, LLTP, Home or Work workgroup made no difference, it was that final layer buried in McAfee that was the stumbling block to home networking. Vista had no problem, but the XP machine would not allow the network through until weshut off the firewalls on both. Could one of these have caused this issue? but the solution here to change the registry setting does work!! Essentially you’ll want to make sure both machines are part of the same workgroup, set up the correct sharing settings, and making sure network discovery is enabled on Windows 7. Reboot the system for the change to take effect. In my case, once Windows 7 was installed I never could access my xp shared drives (c$, d$).
