I myself have always played safe by ordering from either the computer manufacturer or from Crucial or others that supply a scanner that guarantees the RAM.
This time there was no problem. Each of our memory kit are thoroughly tested to ensure compatibility within each memory kit. As such, I would suggest that you Crucial is a RAM vendor, and their utility does an excellent job of analyzing the motherboard. By mixing memory kits together, there may be compatibility issues such as unable to boot or unable to operate at rated specifications.

What CPU do you have? "DDR3-2000, 2133, 2200 and 2600 are only optimized for Core i7 860 and i7 870" if it isn't an i7 that likely also is a problem. I didn't really think anything of it, and it's also kind of tricky to know for sure when you're ordering online, as manufacturers occasionally update products and retailers don't always change I've seen hundreds of fractured plastic connectors that the RAM mounts into. Everything was fine as soon as I switched back to the 2GB sticks. How do I align enumerated equations to the left and text to the right?
I have no idea why the first memory upgrade (different laptop and different memory card) broke the boot process. And because we have not tested our memory kit with your existing memory kit, we cannot guarantee compatibility when multiple kits are used.
